Happy Black History Month

Black People in Science on Social Media:

Happy Black History Month from RAIN to our community. We are taking this month to reflect on the accomplishments of black people that have dedicated their lives to science and research. It is important that we accurately depict what these individuals have done because the Mandela effect can create problems in accuracy. We are choosing 4 scientists each week in February to focus on so we can give you a more well rounded understanding of who they were, what they did, and what they had to overcome.

Hire Pierce County comes to RAIN:

Hire Pierce County's goal is to get youth from the ages of 16 - 24 employed with companies around the county. Thanks to this initiative, we were able to employ some new hires at RAIN! We are excited that we get to interact with some new faces at the start of the year and hope that the work that RAIN does helps generate some excitement in the realm of science and/or entrepreneurship. In the above picture, you can see two of our new hires being trained by a seasoned RAIN lab technician. Thank you Hire Pierce County for this opportunity!

Waterversity Update:

The first Waterversity cohort is currently at the midpoint of the program and we are happy to say that there was a great turnout from the students. The trainees are sticking with the program which is encouraging to see. Once they finish, they will be operators in training which will certify them to work in 25 plus states and supply them with a starting $50k salary annually. Save your spot on the next cohort which starts April 11th by signing up on the RAIN website.
